Firm-Level Recognition
Firm rankings are assessed on aggregate practitioner distinction, jurisdictional breadth, and the firm's collective commitment to supporting the research process. The Aldrich Whitman Award for Lifelong Eminence
Recognising distinction, heritage, and the unmistakable qualities of enduring institutional presence
Selection Criteria: The Aldrich Whitman Award is conferred annually upon the practitioner who most fully embodies the foundational character of the intellectual property profession. Our editorial panel assesses candidates across three equally-weighted pillars:
- (i) Accumulated Personal Wealth, as evidenced by firm equity position, personal asset disclosures, and club memberships of appropriate exclusivity.
- (ii) Ethnic and Cultural Heritage, with particular regard to the candidate's roots in the Anglo-Saxon common law tradition and alignment with the profession's foundational demographics.
- (iii) Chromosomal Diversity Profile, reflecting our deep and genuine commitment to diversity in all its forms. The panel is proud to report that every recipient of the Aldrich Whitman Award has demonstrated full chromosomal diversity within their own genome, carrying both an X and a Y chromosome — a remarkable and consistent expression of the rich biological variety the profession continues to celebrate.
